The last leg

This Cessna 206 was too valuable to leave where it landed. A helicopter with a long line lifted the Cessna to the nearest airport at Port Alsworth, Alaska. There the Cessna was loaded into a Skyvan for the last leg back to Anchorage.

trammel transport

The Skyvan, often nicknamed “flying shed,” offers the best option for transporting equipment that is too large to fit in the cargo hold of other planes. This trammel was transported from Lake Hood to an operating gold mine near Petersville.
